Shiny brand new designs for you all!

Reading time: 3.5 minutes

Well hi! It’s been a minute… and the rest. It’s been far too long since I shared a blog post with everyone! It’s getting on for 2 years since I last shared a blog post, which is a bit silly really!

So much has changed in that time, for starters we’re in the midst of a global pandemic. With lockdown meaning that this Spring and Summer’s weddings are having to be postponed, I’ve had a lot of time on my hands! I’ve used this time to work on some new designs to share with you all in the hope that 2021 is going to be a year chock full of weddings, love, and all that good stuff.

I thought I’d share a bit more detail about those new designs and what has inspired them, so here we go!

Petal Confetti

First up is Petal Confetti! This design started life as a bespoke design for a lovely couple who wanted a to incorporate their colour palette of pinks, purples, blues and hints of gold. You can see some images of their day at Camp and Furnace Liverpool captured by the amazingly talented Rachel Joyce Photography here. They wanted to bring in flowers, hearts and stars and the inspiration for a confetti inspired design struck! I designed table numbers, a table plan and place cards for their day and it was an absolute joy to be able to bring their ideas to life. But, I couldn’t just stop there! I had so much fun while creating that design and I really wanted to complete the collection- and so here it is!

After a good bit of Pinterest research for added inspiration, the rest of the suite started to take shape. I looked at beautiful cakes covered in petals and flowers crafted from sugar. Weddings filled with colourful paper lanterns, balloons, pompoms and more. The thing that most inspired me was seeing those beautiful confetti shots as couples leave their wedding ceremonies. I fell in love with those and images of different types of confetti, from dried petals to cut up recycled tissue paper… The final designs are filled with even more pops of colour and, to me, it feels like a shower of confetti in printed form- I hope you love it as much as I do!

Sand and Sea

Next we have my new Sand and Sea design! If it wasn’t already a bit obvious… this design is inspired by the sea, and sand… Well, it’s actually inspired by all of those beautiful beach weddings and destination weddings seen all over the internet. The colours of the waves on the shore and the stunning relaxed vibes that seem to come along with the very nature of beach weddings. Linen suits, light and flowing gowns, sandals or even bare feet… can’t you almost smell that sea breeze?

I wanted to shy away from an overtly nautical feel like some designs go for and and so instead, this design has swathes of blue and sandy beige watercolour to really lend some of that relaxed beach-y energy to the stationery around the day. A touch of kraft with the envelopes was just perfect to give a bit more of a rustic twist.

At the moment, this design makes me feel really optimistic. It helps me look forward to a time when we can all get excited about holidays and destination weddings and really getting the sand between all of our toes.

Rainforest Breeze

Last, but certainly not least, is my new Rainforest Breeze design collection. This was another design which got it’s start as a bespoke project. This was for an absolutely fabulous couple who were married last year at Liverpool Town Hall and followed up with a reception at Oh Me Oh My. They had a tropical theme to their wedding day with so many beautiful touches, including Mr and Mrs Flamingo cake toppers! They wanted their invitations to show off all of the fun they would be bringing for their wedding day and wanted bright, vibrant colours, flamingos, tropical touches, cocktails and basically a whole party! I was all too happy to oblige and dived in head first to an explosion of colour and joy. I’m not sure who was happier with their first round of proofs, them or me! It was an absolute joy to create this design.

When all was said and done, I was so eager to get back to this design and make it into a full suite. I mean, can you blame me??
The finished collection was simplified and paired back ever so slightly to stick to purely florals and tropical birds with an extra splash of colour from the hot pink envelopes, details cards and optional belly bands. Can you imagine how excited your guests would be to see a hot pink envelope tumble through their letterbox? Now that’s an attention grabber. I think this design really sets the tone and gets everyone hyped up for how much fun they’re bound to have with you on the big day!

I’m so glad to now share this design with you and I hope it catches your eye!

Well I hope you enjoyed that little dive into three of my new designs, there’s a good handful more to go through so I should be back with more soon!
I’ll try not to leave such a huge gap between my next blog post anyway… I’ll try!
